Abstract

Sixth-grade students at MIM Turus Mrisen experienced difficulties in understanding reading texts, particularly in understanding Academic Ability Test (TKA) questions. Based on this problem, a text-based learning program was needed. This community service program aimed to optimize text-based learning in order to improve the reading comprehension skills of sixth-grade students at MIM Turus Mrisen. The method used is Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) combined with action research through four systematic stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The learning strategies applied include the SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) technique, supported by the use of interactive learning media and methods. The results of the program showed a significant improvement in students' ability to understand, analyze, and answer text-based questions, as well as an increase in student activity and participation during the learning process. Teachers also responded positively to the learning innovations that were implemented. This program contributed to the development of a text-based learning model that can be used as a reference for the continuous improvement of Indonesian language learning quality in elementary schools.
